rainy days meme
it's raining. it's raining so hard that you're stuck inside, because you're just not even going to chance venturing out there when it's so cozy in here.

at least you have company, right?

WHAT HAPPENS:
1. → you comment with your character.
2. → roll a number from 1-9. this is the activity the two of you seem to be in the middle of doing or just compelled to do.
3. → tag people and be merry.

THE NUMBERS
1 → board games. what it says on the tin. monopoly, connect four, whathaveyou. you suddenly feel really competitive.
2 → hide and seek. basically. one of you is It. how good are you at getting back to base?
3 → watching a movie. or anything else that involves you, the other person, and getting cozy under a blanket. god it's so warm why would you ever leave.
4 → baking. please don't burn anything down.
5 → arts and crafts. scrapbooking. paper snowflakes/turkeys/whatever. popsicle stick houses. if you made it when you were little and at summer camp, you're suddenly really really excited about doing it again! if only this other guy would quit hogging the glue.
6 → oops went outside anyway. wow you rebel. puddle away.
7 → cozy snack time. soup?? cocoa????? CHIPS??
8 → stuck. in the rain. too bad.
9 → whatever the hell you want. rng just can't contain all this rainy day EXCITEMENT. the only requirement is rain. you can even fuck in the rain, but you'll probably get sick.

[ it's school time, which isn't always bad when it rains because then there's nothing better to do than sit and do school work. but recess... recess on rainy days is always a little sad. because then there's nothing to do but go to the library after lunch and wait. but upon seeing the weather report this fine morning, myrcella had the decent sense to bring a pack of go fish cards. ]

Do you want to play?

[Bran mostly hangs out in the library after lunch, since adults always fuss and/or yell at him when he tries to climb on the jungle gym in his wheelchair. He looks at Myrcella for a minute without saying anything, but then he nods.]

Yeah, alright.

[mothersbeauty]

[ yes, well, teachers seem to worry about that sort of thing. but they don't seem to even bat eyes at two kids sitting at a table and one dealing out cards. ]

You know how to play, of course, right?

[dogdreams]

[he nods again.] Of course. Are you going to deal, or should I?

You can if you want to. [ she's taking that he asked for he wants to, and hands over the cards. ]

[dogdreams]

[he takes the deck and deals out seven cards to Myrcella and then to himself. When he's done, Bran sets the deck neatly between them.]

You go first, then.

[ daintily - all lady like, you know - she organizes her cards before asking; ]

Do you have any sevens?

[dogdreams]

[he forks a seven over with a small sigh.]

Do you have an ace?

Go Fish.

[ she smiles, shifting in her chair and sitting up a little straighter. myrcella quite liked winning, especially liked winning foot races against her brothers, though joffrey had long since been able to outrun her, she could still best tommen and - ]

[ oh. running. that's a little awkward to think about with...well, a boy in his condition sitting right across from her. she hasn't quite the mature etiquettes required to be tactful here, and is more curious than cautious with her brief moment of staring. ]

...Do you have any queens?

[Bran catches the staring and narrows his eyes at Myrcella. He's not exactly pleased about her starting to win, and he draws his card a little huffily.]

No, I don't. Go fish. Do you have any fours?

[mothersbeauty]

[ She forks over a four, though a little reluctantly. ]

Do you have any twos?

[dogdreams]

[Bran looks more self satisfied than he should and lays down his first pair.]

No. Do you have a jack?

[it's raining outside so now's the perfect time for some tomato soup and grilled cheese.]

[dogdreams]

[yesss. Nothing is better than rainy day food from mom.]

Pass the salt, please.

[oftenandloudly]

[she brings the salt to him with a smile.] Be careful, it's a little hot.

[he smiles back and lifts a spoonful of soup to his mouth, careful to blow on it to cool it.]

You know, I actually like the rain.

I'll tell you a secret-- [she smiles as she whispers] I do too. It rained a lot where I grew up, you know. [ireland is a rainy place.] I much prefer it to snow.

I don't know why people get so upset about a little water.

[he takes another bite of soup, and makes a point not to slurp.]

When can we go and visit Ireland?

Perhaps they do not like getting wet. [she smiles before he asks his question.]

After the election. I think perhaps it'd be a nice trip. I'd love for you to see it. Did you know that some of the Harry Potter movies were filmed there? And the Princess Bride.

[dogdreams]

[Harry Potter and the Princess Bride are both pretty high up on the list of Things Bran Likes.]

Can we see where you grew up?

[mama knows what her baby likes.]

Yes, both were filmed at the cliffs of Moher. And we can take a train there from Dublin. It's a long ride but I hope you like trains. [grin]

We can watch a movie on the train if it gets boring.

[he REALLY wants to go to Ireland now. he's never going to let this go. ever.]

Yes or read a book. [it's a mom thing.] I think you would like would it there very much.

I want to move to Ireland. They have sledge hockey there, right? [Bran does not want to give up sledge hockey.]
